Your phone quietly notices other In Range phones nearby using short-range radio — the same tech as your earbuds. When two phones agree they were really near each other, that's an encounter.

Step 1 — Sense

Anonymous, rotating radio tokens — in your pocket, screen off. No one can track you by them; they change constantly and mean nothing on their own.

Step 2 — Confirm

Both phones must agree

An encounter only counts when each phone heard the other, close together, at the same time. One-sided sightings — and faked ones — don't count.

Step 3 — Match

Then — and only then — you can match

You see people you've genuinely crossed paths with. If you both like each other, it's a match — and you already know you share a real-world orbit.

Built private-first, not privacy-patched

Dating needs trust. Here's what the system enforces on its own — not policy promises, database rules.

Location evaporates. Precise location is used only to sanity-check encounters, then purged within 24 hours. There is no movement history to leak.
Consent is granular. Every permission — proximity, precise location, photos — is separate, logged, and instantly revocable. Withdraw it and the feature stops.
Delete means delete. Account erasure cascades through every table on a schedule you can hold us to — request it here, no app needed.
Abuse gets a real door. Intimate-image abuse can be reported by anyone — no account required — with a 48-hour takedown clock that starts the moment you hit send.
